#thINNERbeauty: So Far Beyond Bullshit, The Oxford Dictionary Doesn’t Even Have A Word For It.

Recently I stumbled upon something called Project Harpoon whose goal is to “show women what they could be if they reached their full potential to be healthy.” Their website takes pictures of celebrities and photo shops them into what they consider to be an ideal “healthy and skinny” look. Celebrities such as Melissa McCarthy, Meghan Trainor and model Ashley Graham were targets of this site. They take photos of these women and put them side by side and ask their followers to pick which one looks better while clearly alluring to the thinner photo with captions such as #thINNERbeauty.

The people who created this site are clearly so delusional that you almost feel bad for them.. if it weren’t for their women hating regime they have built for themselves and for others to follow. Not only did they target big name celebrities but they also edited women whose pictures they just found online without their consent. One of these women was a model for Neon Moon lingerie whose company, ironically enough, is a feminist brand who make it a point not to airbrush any of their models. They put up this photo and captioned it “from depressed chub to an elegant fox!”

Is this a Where’s Waldo game? Because I can’t find a depressed chub anywhere. Looks to me like it’s just a gorgeous woman who literally gets paid for being gorgeous as she is.

Facebook has since come to its senses and deleted the page but the sentiment remains as people use #thINNERbeauty to photo shop women into their *key word* personal ideal. These are just people sitting anonymously behind a computer screen judging beautiful people who most likely wouldn’t waste their time on them anyways.

Clearly, I’m not the first to find this alarming as so many sites have put up articles on the “fat shaming site photo shopping plus size women to be thin.” But this is also an issue I have. They are not plus size models or plus size celebrities. They are just regular models and regular celebrities who probably make more money and have more men begging on their knees for their attention than I will ever see in my life. Plus size from what? Where is the original mold that they didn’t fit into? Was there an 11th commandment that Moses forgot to show us that said “though shall fit into this mold and if not you shall be deemed plus size.” Nah, it’s bull shit.

#thINNERbeauty is bullshit.

Plus size is bullshit.

And Project Harpoon is so delirious and archaically misguided that it’s gone so far beyond bullshit that the Oxford Dictionary hasn’t even come up for a word for people whose intentions are to demean and humiliate while maintaining a pseudo “trying to help” cover.

Always remember, these are anonymous morons who sit behind a screen photo shopping and judging. If they’re men then due to their clear lack of respect it seems they may never get laid, so sorry. And if they’re women, they need our help more than anyone.

At the end of the day the only thing you need to remember is the wise Amy Schumer who said, “I’m 160 pounds and I can catch a dick whenever I want.” Amen sistah.
